Operation Bye-Bye Binkie! (updated)

Update: We took all her binkies and had her put them in a plastic bag this morning which she wasn't too pleased about...but handled it well. Scott took her to Toys R Us and let her roam around and pick any toy she wanted. he said she had a blast and would up choosing a small Sesame Street toy. We also took her to get pizza at lunch (her favorite) and kept telling her what a big girl she was being for giving up the binkies. At nap it took her 30 minutes -vs- her normal 5 to go down. She mostly was playing and jumping and only yelled out a few times for the binkie. She slept 2 hours. Cross your fingers for tonight going as smoothly!!

Well tomorrow is the day that we are taking the binkies away! We have been telling her that we are going to mail them to babies in need for about two weeks now. I am pretty sure this is not going to be fun, but it makes sense to get her off the binks before the twins arrive! Luckily she only really uses them at night and nap time. Scott is going to take her to Toys R Us this weekend so she can pick out a prize for being such a big girl. I will update this weekend to let you know how it all goes down!

Not much else has been happening...I had an OB appt. Wed, nothing significant happened...no cervical check this visit. The good news is that I don't need a cervical u/s for a few more weeks! It is funny that I am 29 weeks, but I am measuring 38 weeks. I am going to look like a freak in a month!!!

Getting rid of the binkie has to be hard. My cousin has been having to deal with that for a while. I guess I was blessed in that area. Logan only chews on them. He has never taken one. I guess cause he was in the NICU for almost a month so he never got use to the binkie. Good luck.

I don't think you are going to look like a freak. That is weird that at 29 weeks you are measuring 38 weeks. So does that mean then that at 31 weeks they will consider you full term because you will measure 40 weeks?

The reason I am measuring so big is because of the twins. They can only measure your uterus so it is the same for a single pregnancy -vs- a multiple. By the end of the pregnancy I should be measuring around 45-48 weeks or so

I'm impressed at your bye bye binkie strategy! We procrastinated on that one for a LONG time with Ben. Anyway, you go!
